The Use field is not accessible unless I first select Adobe PDF 8.0. The Printers & Scanners dialog says, "No printers are available." When I click Add, the dialog that appears lists Adobe PDF 8.0 as a printer (?), the only one found. I tried to ADD the printer, but there was no printer found. I did install the driver software, turn on the printer and plug it into the mini.ĥ. How do I accomplish this? I don't have a printing system.ģ&4. I don't know what "Reset the printing system" means. First, when I go to the URL you specify, I get a long page, listing printers by many manufacturers. Sorry, but your instructions do not work. I even went to a store to BUY a NEW printer today, but they read the specs and said NONE of them mentions compatibility with Mavericks. WHERE can I get a downloadable printer driver that lets Mavericks communicate with my Brother HL-1440 laster printer? Then select System preferences from the Apple menu and choose Printers & Scanners to verify that the new driver has been accepted. Plug the other end of the USB cable into the Mac mini. Unplug the printer's power cord from an AC outlet. Unplug the UBS cable from the Mac mini AND from the printer. I've followed all the directions, including some that seem flaky. They said it was designed to work with Mavericks.
They directed me to a site for downloading the updated driver. So I went to Brother's website and inquired about a driver that would work with my HL-1440 laser printer and my Mavericks operating system.
